Rival Players Hoping to Settle Score in Upcoming 6-Man All-Star Game
It might be the end of the school year, but the state's best football players from Class C will be on the field in Butte and Highwood this Saturday night.
The Bob Cleverly 8-Man All-Star Game will be played at Montana Tech at 7pm, while the 6-Man All-Stars will duke it out in Highwood at the same time. SWX made the trip to Highwood on Thursday, where both the Red and Blue Teams were completing their second practice of the day.
The Blue Team is made up of kids from State Runner-up Box Elder, Tri-Cities, Valier, North Star, Savage, Lincoln and Garfield County. The Red Team is comprised of players from State Champion Denton-Geyser-Stanford, Sunburst, Richey-Lambert, Hot Springs, MonDak, Terry, Custer-Hysham and Fromberg.
The Bearcats defeated a lot of these teams either in the regular season or the playoffs, so they know they have a target on their backs.
Most of these guys have a hatred toward us because we whooped up on a few of them throughout the years," Bearcats' senior Kade Woodhall says.
'I still look to get back at these guys. This is my last shot at getting back at them. I feel. I think we can do it though," Box Elder senior Shane Ketchum says.
Even in the lunch room we'll still talk to each other but there's definitely tension between the red and blue team. There's constantly pranks but it's nothing too serious but it's all fun," Tri-Cities CJ Stevenson claims.
SWX will have highlights from both the 6 and 8-Man All-Star Games on Saturday night and will visit with the 8-Man All-Stars on Friday.
