Montana's Democratic Presidential Primary Results

Posted: Updated:

Bernie Sanders has been declared the winner of the Montana's Democratic Presidential Primary by the Associated Press with 51.1 percent of the vote.

Montana is not a winner takes all state, so the 21 available delegates will eventually be divided proportionally between Sanders and Hillary Clinton at this weekend's State Convention. The AP has Sanders being awarded 11 delegates while Clinton will collect 10.

Sanders visited Montana back on May 11th, making campaign stops in both Missoula and Billings to crowds of thousands of supporters. Hillary Clinton's husband, former president Bill Clinton, visited the Magic City later in the month in support of his wife's campaign.

Regardless of the outcome in Montana, Clinton has already reached the number of pledged delegates required to clinch the Democratic Party's nomination. However, noting becomes official until the National Convention in Philadelphia at the end of next month.
