Big voter turnout for Primaries

Posted: Updated:
HELENA -

Typically the primary election has less of a vote turnout than during the general election. However Montana Secretary of state Linda McCulloch said this year that may not be the case.

"We always know in a primary turnout is less than the general, but in an election year where the president is an open seat, I would expect that to be more."

KFBB talked to a Chief election judge at the Lewis and Clark County library who said all day there was a steady flow of people coming in to vote. There was never really anytime for a break, which the judge said is a good thing.

As of 12 a.m. Wednesday, Montana's statewide voter turnout shows 35%.
