Inching by with under 100 more votes against, Powell County's weed levy fails in the primaries.
Earlier this year the Powell County Weed Board asked that the County Commissioners submit a request to increase the number of mills levied by the board: an estimated $59,868.
Money generated by the mills would have been used to pay for noxious weed management of the county road and county property weed control services as well as Weed Board expenses.
