A man fires a gunshot into the air from inside his tent Saturday night at the Sprague Creek Campground at Glacier National Park. The man was was camping with his girlfriend when he fired the shot from a revolver. His girlfriend went to get help from the campground host, and law enforcement was alerted around 9:30.
According to the Flathead Beacon, the campground was evacuated and the man was surrounded by eight armed rangers. That's when he dropped the revolver.
Rangers believe that the man was disoriented due to prescription medication. He may be cited, as it is illegal to fire a weapon in the park.
