Montana's unemployment rate steady

Posted: Updated:

Montana's unemployment rate remains at 4.2 percent for the fifth month in a row. According to Labor Commissioner Pam Bucy, Montana's continued low unemployment rate suggests job opportunities and wage growth for Montana workers.

Montana's consumer price index rose by 0.2 percent last month, and while food prices went down, energy prices rose by 1.3 percent, which was fueled by an increase in gasoline prices.

Nationally the unemployment rate has increased 0.2 percent, putting the U.S. at a 4.9 percent unemployment rate.
