Youth Golfers Take Course at Meadow Lark in Great Falls
On Monday, 92 youngsters took over the golf course at the Meadow Lark Country Club in the Electric City for the Meadow Lark Dual Junior Golf Tournament.
Kids ranged in age from eight to 17 and are part of either the 'Pacific Steel Waddell and Reed' and 'Southwest Montana' junior golf programs. There were about 50 golfers from Great Falls, and other players from Helena, Butte, Hamilton, Missoula and even Dillon. Some of the golfers have had years of experience playing the sport, and some were just starting out. Overall, they were taking advantage of being out on a golf course.
"I'm taking away how to be a better golfer. Practicing more and plus being a better player to be around and sportsmanship and just treating everyone with respect," says Tanner Hanson, a 13 year old golfer from Hamilton.
"It gives you a chance to get out there and do something. I love golf and other sports. Some kids can't do all of that stuff. So this is a great opportunity to get out here and do what I love," says Mackenzie Finnegan, a 13 year old golfer from Butte
"It helps me practice on my skills and know how to actually how to play a game of golf and know all of the rules," says Kendra Fuller, a 13 year old golfer from Helena.
