The University of Great Falls volleyball team was back at practice Tuesday to prepare for its preseason tournaments.
For every team, there's always room for improvement, but it'll be tough to finish better than 26-10, which is how the Lady Argos finished last year. The 2015 squad also went 11-3 in preseason tournament play before their conference schedule started.
However, this year's team has scrambled to gain some cohesiveness. Head Coach Arunas Duda has had to mesh together new and old faces in a short period of time before the Lady Argos head to California for the Biola University Tournament.
"We've done double days for a week and a half and mixing it in with some of our camp as well. Eight days probably isn't enough so we're going to take this time to play against some good teams and find out where we're at," Duda said.
The team has to play four games in two days, and that will certainly test UGF's mental and physical toughness.
"[We've been] coming in, and working hard every day, and I think we're mentally prepared as well. We've done a lot of mental toughness type drills so I think we're ready," said senior outside hitter Madison Wilhelm.
The Lady Argos start their season Thursday against the warriors of Midland University and Westmont University.
