GFCC Volleyball Looks to Improve

Posted: Updated:

In Class C volleyball, the Great Falls Central Catholic Mustangs are off a win Tuesday night against CJI. The Mustangs swept the Hawks in straight sets for their first regular season win.

Last year, GFCC did not make it to the Class C State Tournament after they lost at districts. Second year head coach Danielle Baeth said her team can improve on their defense, hitting, and even zone serving. If the Mustangs want to make it to state this year coach Baeth says it starts with the team's effort.

"I always ask [for] 100 percent work ethic," Baeth said. "Work hard and it will pay off in the end in the end. If they put in the time now throughout the summer, throughout two a days, it will pay off in the post-season."

"I think teamwork is basically it," added senior libero Marley Held. "We have the hitters and we have some pretty good passers and we have great setters. If we all just work together in the teamwork aspect, I think we're going to do really well."

They Mustangs play next at Dutton Brady Thursday at six p.m. Then on Saturday, the team hosts Heart Butte at home at eleven in the morning.
