This Friday, the biggest game of the season in Helena takes place between Helena and Capital. Helena High will take the field boasting a 4-2 record after a 46-43 win over Skyview. The 46 point offensive output surprisingly wasn't the highest of the season, which occurred back in week three in a 49-0 triumph over Great Falls. Coach Tony Artson said a win like that is fun for him and builds confidence for the team heading into Friday's showdown with Capital.
"It's a lot of fun to win a game like that in the fourth quarter," said offensive lineman Daniel Stockton. "I think we learned a lot as a team to be able to win the game in the final drive. I think that was a big thing for our team to learn."
Capital also has some momentum going into crosstowns. The Bruins also won Friday night thanks to late game heriocs. This was the Bruins first win in game action of the the year - the first coming via a forfeit against Hellgate. Capital heads in at 2-4 and is teetering on the edge of not making the playoffs. Offensive lineman Conor Quick says getting the 'W' added a boost to the team's confidence.
"It was pretty fun getting the first actual win of the season," said Quick. "In the locker room after the game, everyone was stoked. It was fun."
