BILLINGS, Mont. -

Absentee ballots will be sent out across our state this Friday.

The Montana Secretary of State's office tells us late voter registration started Wednesday.

If you want to vote, make sure to go to your local county election office to register.

The Secretary of State's office reports that just over 292,000 absentee ballots will be mailed out this Friday.

State officials want to remind everyone to mail back your absentee ballot at least one week before the election.

If you're not able to mail it in on time state officials say you can drop it off at you local polling location or drop it off at your local county election office by Election Day.

We also contacted the Wyoming Secretary of State's office. They say Wyoming voters were able to start requesting absentee ballots on September 27. State officials say absentee ballots need to be mailed at least one week before Election Day. If you can't mail in on time make sure to drop it off at your local county clerk's office by Election Day.

Check on your voting registration status by contacting your local county clerk's office.

Wyoming is an Election Day registration state just like Montana.

Voters may register to vote at a polling place on Election Day.
