Chinook Relieves Scott Friede of Coaching Duties

Posted: Updated:

KFBB spoke to Chinook Superintendent Darrin Hannum Tuesday afternoon. He said "Scott Friede will not coach the remainder of the season."

Friede did not coach the team during last week's meeting against Cascade. Hannum also said assistant coach Christian Lehnert will serve as the interim head coach during the Sugarbeeters last game. That game is Wednesday against Hays-Lodge Pole.

Chinook will not be in this year's postseason. Last season Friede led the Sugarbeeters to a 44-20 win over Arlee to win the 2015 Class C "8 Man" State championship title. Superintendent Hannum said he's appreciative for what Friede has done for the Chinook football program and for the community.

It's unclear at this time why Friede was let go.
