In Class C 8-man football, the Cascade Badgers had a tough end to their season yesterday when they lost to powerhouse Ennis 60-6. Although going home isn't what the Badgers had planned, the season was not a loss. The Badgers improved on last season's 1-8 record to go 9-1 this season, capped off with a 2-seed in the state playoffs. The team was a little bummed following the defeat but knows they can compete with just about anyone and will take that confidence with them into next season.
"A storybook type of season, we got big wins when we needed them and 9-1 coming into this game," said head coach Jay Fredrickson. "Great for the community, great for the kids, great for program building. It was just a tremendous season."
"I think we can keep doing what we're doing and I believe we can still be competitors next year," said quarterback Josh Pepos.
