Gov. Bullock expresses gratitude toward supporters

HELENA, Mont. -

Unofficial results are showing Montana’s incumbent Governor Steve Bullock has won the 2016 gubernatorial race.

According to the Montana Secretary of State’s results page, Bullock won with 50 percent in his favor. Republican opponent Greg Gianforte received only 46 percent of the vote.

Once the race was called, Gov. Bullock stepped onto the stage at the Montana Democrat’s viewing party and conveyed his thanks for all the support he’s received.

"We're so grateful for all that you have done," Bullock said. "Mike and I have said throughout our campaign, that we're not going to wake up the day after election day saying 'If only we'd done a little bit more, Montana would continue going in that right direction.'"

This will be Governor Bullock’s second and last term in the Governor’s office.

The results are still unofficial until they have been canvassed at a later time.
