The Montana Griz and Lady Griz were on the road yesterday, and both unfortunately suffered losses. The men were in Laramie, Wyoming to take on the Cowboys. After hosting and losing to the Cowboys last month in Missoula, the Griz played another tough game, eventually losing 85-83 on a last second three point shot by Wyoming. The team's record moves to 2-7 on the season. Walter Wright had 20 points off the bench, and Michael Oguine had 14 points and six assists. The Griz will stay out on the road and head to Eugene where they will take on the number 24 team in the country, the Oregon Ducks, and then return home on December 22 to host Pepperdine.
For the Lady Griz, it was another tough road trip on what is quickly becoming a lost season. The team was down in Texas playing Stephen F. Austin, and in what is becoming a theme this season, started the game slowly. The Lady Griz fell behind by 15 at halftime, and could not mount a second half rally, eventually losing to the Lady Jacks 54-46. Mackenzie Johnson and Emma Stockholm led the team in scoring, but as a whole, the team shot 30 percent from the field. The Lady Griz will return home looking to get a win tomorrow when they host the Rocky Mountain Fighting Bears at Dahlberg Arena.
