Ryan Imhoff scored a game-high 24 points and Zach Taylor added 20 to lead Carroll to a wire-to-wire 84-76 win over the University of Lethbridge Saturday evening at the PE Center.
The Saints started the game with a 7-0 run and led by as many as 18 points with 11:18 to play in the second half but the Pronghorns cut the lead to 82-76 in the final seconds before Matt Wyman hit a pair of free throws to close out the eight-point win.
Carroll was 30-59 (50.8 percent) from the field and 4-9 (44.4 percent from the 3-point line. The Saints outrebounded Lethbridge 35-28, led by Imhoff's game-high nine boards.
The Saints were 20-25 (80 percent) from the free throw line led by Taylor who was a perfect 7-7. Steven Helm scored 15 points in his first start in a Carroll uniform, Oliver Carr added 10 points.
Lethbridge was led by Dejon Burdeaux with 22 points, Elliot Sentance scored 15 and DeAngelo Ashley had 12. The Pronghorns were 31-59 (52.5 percent) from the field but gave up 24 turnovers to just 12 for the Saints.
Carroll moves to 9-1 on the season. The game is an exhibition for the Pronghorns.
The Saints leave early Monday morning to travel to the Gulf Coast for a pair of games, beginning Monday with Xavier University in New Orleans before traveling to face the University of Mobile (Ala.) Wednesday.
