BONNER, Mont. (AP) - The former executive director of the Five Valleys Land Trust has announced he will be running for Congress in 2018.

Lee Newspapers of Montana reports (http://bit.ly/2wX6sk5 ) 42-year-old Grant Kier announced Tuesday that he is looking to become Montana's next U.S. House Representative. He will be running against Democratic candidate John Heenan, an attorney from Billings who announced he was running last month, and Republican U.S. Rep. Greg Gianforte, who has used his vast personal wealth to fund his previous campaigns.

Kier moved from Colorado to Montana in 2005. In Montana, he has worked as a geology professor at the University of Montana and executive director of the Bitterroot Land Trust.
