GREAT FALLS -

Great Falls Police Department Officers responded to a call about a shoplifter on December 5th. Charging documents state Seana Montoya was being detained by the store's security in the loss prevention office. One of the loss prevention officers told GFPD he saw Montoya walk around the store selecting several items. He says she then removed the barcode stickers from two of the items and placed them on two other, more expensive items she had selected. Montoya went to the self-check registers and reportedly only paid $2.47 for $15.48 worth of merchandise.

Charging documents say Montoya had an active warrant for her arrest for an outstanding theft in Municipal Court. She was arrested on the warrant and the theft charge. Charging documents also state while being transported to jail, Montoya asked an officer if she could tell him something and then said she had "meth" in her purse, approximately 1/4 gram of the drug and used syringes. Upon arrival at the Cascade County Detention Center, officers searched Montoya's purse and found a clear rock-like substance in a clear plastic bag along with three syringes in a smaller bag. The clear rock-like substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Montoya is facing charges of Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Theft. The State has requested her bond be set in the amount of $2,500.
