Trujillo reportedly found with weapon inside prison cell

UPDATE: Stacey Trujillo will serve the next 60 years in the Montana state prison with no parole. Judge Kutzman charged him with 50 years on the attempted deliberate homicide charge and 10 years for tampering with evidence.

Court documents state, last February officers responded to the rescue mission for a reported stabbing.  When they arrived, Trujillo had already left, but surveillance footage showed him walking behind the victim, and stabbing him 5 times in the head.

Trujillo turned around and started to walk away before returning and stabbing the victim a 6th time.

The victim later died in an unrelated incident.


UPDATE: Stacy Trujillo was found in possession of a deadly weapon while in prison.

On February 17th, detention officers were conducting a routine cell inspection and when they conducted a pat-down search on Trujillo. An officer reported feeling an object in Trujillo's waistband. 

Court documents state officers observed him remove an object from his waistband and attempt to hide it. The object found by officers was reportedly a weapon construed of 2 3/4 inch altered metal material sharpened to a point at one end, with a 1 3/4 inch material shaped into a handle on the other end. The incident was caught on surveillance.

He is now being charged with one count of Possession of Deadly Weapon by Prisoner or Youth in Facility.


Update: After deliberating for approximately 40 minutes, the jury has found Stacy Trujillo guilty on one count of Attempted Deliberate Homicide and one count of Tampering With Evidence. The presentencing hearing will be in approximately 6 weeks. Trujillo is currently in custody at the Cascade County Detention Center.


Trial is underway for a man accused of attempted deliberate homicide.

Stacy Trujillo was originally charged with assault with a weapon for stabbing a victim with a knife multiple times outside of the rescue mission. He is now being charged with attempted homicide.

Court documents state, last February officers responded to the rescue mission for a reported stabbing.  When they arrived, Trujillo had already left, but surveillance footage showed him walking behind the victim, and stabbing him 5 times in the head.

Trujillo turned around and started to walk away before returning and stabbing the victim a 6th time.

Two witnesses also confirmed Trujillo was the person stabbing the man in the video.

The victim was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery with deep cuts all over his head.

He later died however the cascade county attorney
s office says it was not related to this particular incident.
