After winning a Class AA State Championship, and securing first team All-State honors, C.M. Russell basketball star Sam Vining knew he would be highly coveted around the treasure state.
On Friday, Vining announced he will play collegiately at Rocky Mountain College.
The senior guard averaged a stat line around 16 points per game to go along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
"It's something I've worked my whole life for," Vining said. "I've played basketball since i was five years old probably and I mean, it was just cool (to receive the offer). I'm relieved that I reached my goal.
Vining's commitment has another story line. He will join his older brother Lukas, who redshirted this past season, in Billings.
Although the two didn't play together in high school (Lukas starred at Great Falls High), Sam said he can't wait to be on the court with his brother.
"It's going to be weird," Sam laughed. "I mean, I played against him actually in high school twice so I mean it's going to be different."
