Carroll College softball heads to the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament this weekend.
The Fighting Saints are the No. 6 seed in their second-ever appearance and first since 2016. The 2018 squad set a new school record with 28 wins in the regular season and head coach Aaron Jackson says they are eagerly seeking the program's first postseason victory.
"You gotta have all three facets of the game working and you gotta get some luck so hopefully we have all three facets going and then if we need some luck hopefully it'll drop our way," said Coach Jackson.
"This team is family and so it's really awesome to just see I mean in every game we play this team plays with an attitude of servant leadership and with love," said junior pitcher Tess Eaton.
"Well, tiny hand will make an appearance and it's gonna be awesome. Myself and Allison Bayer have these tiny hands and one weekend we were like you know we're just gonna rally with them so we started bringing them to games and we bring it out to pump people up," said senior outfielder Brittany Hogan.
Carroll is set to face the No. 3 seed Oregon Tech to begin the bracket. The Saints won their regular-season series in Helena against the Owls as two of the three games went to extra innings.
