Orange is the new black.
No, not the television series, the new track at Memorial Stadium.
After an extended winter pushed the completion day back, crews were able to paint the lines and put down the final coat on the new track surface.
Both C.M. Russell and Great Falls High athletes lined the turf field next to the track along with kids from East and North Middle Schools.
Superintendent Tammy Lacey addressed the crowd, gave a history lesson on the old track, and introduced those who made the new one possible.
Finally athletic director for Great Falls Public Schools Gary DeGooyer cut a ceremonial ribbon giving everyone the green light to use the facility.
Following the dedication, CMR and Great Falls High went head to head in the first meet on the new track.
