When will the doors reopen

Posted: Updated:

It has been well over a year since the doors were shut and sealed at the Agri-Village Mall by the Great Falls Fire Marshal.
Thursday, we finally got some answers on when or if it will ever open again.

The short answer, not any time soon.
The Great Falls City Building Official, Bruce Haman, said issues with the building actually go back five years.
However, after further inspection of the building, many of the recommended repairs had never been done.
They also found fire exits had been barred shut from both the inside and outside, but the straw that broke the camels back was the main fire system had been manually shut off.

"We would really like the building back up. We can not look away from safety and life safety we are definitely at the point where we would like to work with the owners," said Haman.

He added the ball is really in the owner's court.  He said tenth avenue is one of the busiest streets in the state,  and hopes it can be more inviting to development in Great Falls.
