A two-time Gatorade Player of the Year is coming home.
Former Great Falls High Bison hooper Brendan Howard told SWX he is transferring from Eastern Washington University to MSU-Billings this coming season.
The move is special for a couple of reasons: Brendan gets to return to the Treasure State, and he'll also join his brother Bobby, who's a Yellowjacket assistant coach.
Brendan quickly wrote his name in history books when he became the first player in Class AA to break 2,000 career points. The post said that Eastern wasn't a good fit for his style of play. He also emphasized that although he's excited to play for his brother this was completely his decision.
"MSU-Billings presents a pretty good opportunity for me," he said. "I know a couple of the guys there I played against and played with, and I think Coach Durham - playing with him will be really beneficial to me too. I've kind of missed (Montana) over this last year."
Brendan said he will wear #32 when he hits the floor in Billings - the same number he wore in high school.
