Bill Pilgeram Leaving Capital Basketball After 20 Years

Posted: Updated:

Capital High girls basketball head coach Bill Pilgeram is leaving Helena to become the newest leader of the Corban University women's basketball program.

Pilgeram spent 20 years at Capital High and coached the boys for eight seasons before taking over the girls program in 2006. Pilgeram guided the Lady Bruins to 11 Class AA state tournaments, runner-up finishes in 2007 and 2013, and the first state championship in program history in 2015. He also won the Class B state title as a player for Plains High School and is Carroll College men's basketball's all-time leading scorer. The treasure state legend says this is an opportunity he's been waiting for.

"I've always had a life goal that at some point in my career, I was going to try to do a change and try to coach at the college level. The timing in my career made it something I want to pursue. I'm just real excited about that change, moving on, and what the possibilities of being over there at Corban with this mission statement and everything, it just matches me perfectly,” said Pilgeram.

Coach Pilgeram officially starts his new job at Corban July 1st.
