The Great Falls High Bison became the first-ever unbeaten Class AA softball state champion. The Bison took an early lead over the Sentinel Spartans who battled back to tie the game. The Bison had an answer just as they did all spring, pulling away for a 14-4 victory to cap off their perfect year. After the game, the Bison said it all came down to chemistry.
"To come back after having that like it just shows how much dedication and hard work we have and stuff. We didn't let down. Everyone was telling each other it's alright we got this so that was really good of us and I'm proud of them for doing that because there's some young girls on there and keeping them up is all that matters," said senior pitcher Erin Hocker.
"There were a couple times we didn't play so well but we still struggled through and won ballgames and that's what makes a great team great you when you can battle through some bad times and still win and they did all that," said head coach Mike Coleman.
