Woman accused of setting home ablaze, charged with attempted deliberate homicide

GREAT FALLS -

UPDATE: Holly Lasher, accused of setting a home on fire back in May, is now facing an Attempted deliberate Homicide charge.

One woman is facing charges after being accused of setting her own home on fire with another person inside.

On May 30th, a residence was reported to be on fire on 3rd Ave NW. When Great Falls Fire and Police arrived on the scene, Holly Lasher was identified as one of two residents of the burning home.

Court documents state witnesses described a verbal argument between Lasher and the other resident, who was found to have obvious injuries from a physical assault and was transported to the hospital. The victim told detectives Lasher had assaulted her a number of times, and at one point even held a knife to her throat.

After the assault, the victim claims Lasher lit a fire near the bathroom next to the bed where the victim was laying before leaving the home. The injured victim attempted to crawl out of the home to escape the blaze.

Outside the residence, Lasher reportedly told a neighbor they should leave the victim inside the home as it burned.

Lasher has prior convictions for theft and one conviction out of Nevada for soliciting or engaging in prostitution.

She is now facing charges of assault with a weapon and arson. Court documents state more charges will be forthcoming because of the danger to people in the community and fire personnel. The State has requested her bond be set in the amount of $100,000.

KFBB is receiving reports that a presidential plane has landed in Great Falls at the Montana Air National Guard. It is unclear what exactly the plane is doing at MANG, although it is suspected the plane could be apart of the President's fleet and there wasn't room at the Missoula International Airport for the entire fleet to land.  Our Ricky Blackburn is currently on the scene at the airport, and is working to bring us more information as it becomes available.
