Posted: Updated:
MILES CITY, Mont. -

A former Custer County High School teacher is charged with multiple felony counts of Sexual Intercourse Without Consent.

The teacher is identified as Morgan Pett of Miles City.

According to the affidavit, Pett began a relationship with a 15-year-old girl in October or November of 2016.

The relationship grew in December 2016 as Pett allegedly invited the girl to a park to walk his dog on December 9 which ended with a kiss.

The affidavit says Pett penetrated the victim. with his fingers on December 11, 2016.

Oral sex followed on December 14th and intercourse was had on December 15th and 17th in Pett's vehicle.

The affidavit says intercourse was also had between December 11th and January 3, 2017, at Pett's home.

Pett's wife became suspicious of the relationship and reported her suspicions to Carrie David with David Counseling who notified authorities on January 6, 2017.

The affidavit says that Pett's wife confronted him about the relationship and an app he allegedly asked the teen to download to allow the exchange of messages that would delete after 10 minutes.

Miles City Unified School District  Superintendent Keith Campbell issued a statement Wednesday saying that the system was made aware of the inappropriate communication with a student in January 2017. Pett was placed on administrative leave at that time. Pett resigned from the school system on February 9th. The results of the internal investigation were forwarded to the Montana Office of Public Instruction on March 24th, 2017.

Campbell says his staff was quick to respond to the allegations. Ellingson also praised the Miles City Police Department for their efforts in the case. Campbell concluded his statement saying, "We have an excellent staff and will continue to strive to protect our students.".

According to the Office of Public Instruction Morgan Pett holds a valid Professional Teaching License through June 30, 2019.

If convicted Pett could serve up to 100 years in state prison.

KHQ.COM - Most mothers can only hope by the time their children grow up and move out of the house, they've learned all the necessary things to be a successful adult, including the basic knowledge that a turkey must be cooked in an oven, or perhaps in a smoker... NOT in a microwave. For this reason a new prank-challenge going around on Facebook is resulting in some hilarious text conversations between mothers and their grown children.
