Carnival rides open at Western Montana Fair

Posted: Updated:
MISSOULA -

A main part of any fair is the carnival rides and Wednesday, Aug. 8 is the first day they are open. The Western Montana Fair had a soft opening August 7.

Setting up all the rides takes a few days with the help of dozens and dozens of people.

Semi trucks bring in rides to be unloaded, unfolded and reloaded back on shortly after the fair is over. After they are loaded up they move on to the next city and start the process all over again.

The fair is open August 8-August 11 with events starting as early as 7:30 a.m. Admission to the fair is free, but tickets for the carnival rides will still cost money.
