Posted: Updated:

With Montana reaching into the triple digits this week, heat-related illnesses are a potential risk.

Heat-related illnesses include:

•Heat Stroke

•Heat Exhaustion

•Heat Cramps

•Heat Rash

It's extremely important to stay hydrated, drinking a minimum of 8 cups a day.

The best way to gauge this is by simply listening to your body.

If your urine is a light yellow, you're hydrated.

However, if your urine is a dark brown, you need to drink more water immediately.

Fruits and vegetables with high concentrations of water are another good options, such as watermelon or cucumbers.

If you have kids, make sure they are drinking plenty of water as well as taking periodic breaks

Due to their smaller size and age, they are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses.
