Missoula Fresh Market is joining a national trend allowing customers to buy groceries through a smartphone app and pick them up at the store, without having to go inside.
Missoula Fresh Market is one of the first local grocery stores where you can actually pick up all your groceries without getting out of your car and they'll be delivered right to the designated pickup parking spot.
This “Click and Go” system works by either placing an order online on the Missoula Fresh Market website or on the app called "Rosie" ahead of time.
The goal is to make grocery shopping more convenient and less time consuming.
"People who have kids or pets, we can deliver it to their car and it allows parents who have college kids to place orders for them to pick up," said Missoula Fresh Market Assistant Store Manager, Dan Goodmanson.
Goodmanson says it's very simple. Once you place your grocery order, you can pick up your items within an hour if you're in a hurry, but if you change your plans you have a three hour window.
"It gives them flexibility with their schedule," said Goodmanson.
Prices through "Click and Go" are the same as if you are in the store shopping.
There is a convenience charge of $4.99 and a minimum order of $30. If your order is more than $100, the fee is waived.
Goodmanson is confident this new local pick up service will be as successful as larger chain stores.
"Currently with the promo codes so you waive the $4.99 fee and the prices are the same. I think everyone else has an upcharge on their stuff so I think we'll compete really well," said Goodmanson.
Missoula Fresh Market is also looking to add a delivery service to this “Click and Go” system.
