ABC FOX Montana announces election night analysts

Posted: Updated:

As your hometown election headquarters, ABC FOX Montana is excited to bring you the best political analysts in the state.
On election night, we will have two of Montana's most recognizable politicians in our studios.

Former U.S. Ambassador to China Max Baucus and former Congressman Denny Rehberg will be on set with us talking about what has become one of the most watched political cycles in history.

Max Baucus ended his political career as U.S. Ambassador to China, but most people 'round these parts know him as "Senator." Baucus is the longest-serving U.S. senator from Montana. He spent 36 years in Washington D.C. before President Obama tapped him to move to China.

When President Trump was elected, Baucus returned to Montana, but retire he did not.

The 76-year-old and his wife Mel have launched a consulting business to help people trying to navigate trades in China or red tape in Washington, D.C.

He also travels the world speaking, but perhaps his biggest endeavor is launching the Baucus Institute at the University of Montana. The public policy center brings speakers to the state and helps Montana students land internships in Washington D.C.

Congressman Denny Rehberg represented Montana for 12 years in D.C. He very narrowly lost in a bid to unseat Sen. Jon Tester in 2012.

Since then he's been working with global public strategy firm Mercury. As co-chair of the company's Washington D.C. office, Rehberg focuses on government relations and political consulting.

Back in Montana, he and his wife Jan own several fast food restaurants around the state.

Out of politics? Yes. But, retired? Both men are far from it.

We'll have live coverage election night coverage including their analysis from 9-10 p.m. on our FOX station, then at 10 p.m. make the switch to ABC as candidates wrap up the night and take the stage for either acceptance or concession speeches.
