BILLINGS, Mont. -

A Roundup man is hospitalized and in stable condition after being shot in his hip/pelvis in the area of 8th St. West and Terry Avenue.

Billings Police Sgt. Bret Becker says the call to 911 came just before 3:00 AM.

Upon arrival, police located the 55-year-old male who pointed out a house where the shooting occurred.

Sgt. Becker says police found a shattered storm door, bullet holes, shell casings, and blood.

Becker says the occupants of the house were interviewed and it was determined a suspect had fired several shots at the victim, apparently from inside a vehicle parked nearby, striking him one time.

The suspect was described as a teenage Hispanic male and fled the scene on foot prior to officers arriving.

Sgt. Becker says police are following up on several leads on this individual, however, no arrest has been made at this time.

Police believe drugs are involved and that there is no heightened threat to the public.
