Welcome home 819th RED HORSE Squadron

Posted: Updated:

GREAT FALLS- 150 members of Malmstrom's 819th RED HORSE Squadron were welcomed home this afternoon after spending six months on a deployment.

For the last six months, they've been working day in and day out serving missions in the Middle East as well as Africa.

Part of their time was spent building a command center which is now fighting against terrorism. Now that their work is done. It's time to come home and start on a new mission at home.

"I'm looking forward to retirement cause the last two deployments have been hard for me. I'm a full-time mom so I have my hands full and being full time I work on the CDC on base to so I have my hands full," said the Druessel Family who's father was deployed.

It's not anything new for these families who sacrifice so much, but they also tell me that doesn't mean it's easy.  The team completed nearly 450 missions, more than 100 construction projects, visiting more than 8 countries.

These men and women will have to finish unpacking bags and filling out some paperwork before getting some much-needed relaxation.
