Location: Scapegoat Wilderness, about 30 miles west of Augusta

My dog, Rye, has spent every summer of her life with me in Patrol Lookout in the Scapegoat Wilderness. This year we had an early snowstorm on September 1. Rye's favorite activity is hiking and guarding the lookout from the local rodents. This is one of my favorite photos from this past summer of my dog loving her surroundings and enjoying the snow and the trail.
