Kessler Leonard with his Champion trophy

First place wrestling trophy won

6th grader, Kessler Leonard, from Sun River Middle School, won a first place trophy at the Rocky Mountain National Monster Match. The tournament took place this last weekend in Denver, Colorado. This was Leonard's third time at this particular match. He has been wrestling for eight years and has won eight different types of state tournments. The tournaments that Leonard is involved in are greko, freestyle, and folkstyle.
"I have been working hard at the North Montana Wrestling Club at Great Falls High," Leonard says, "and I had to make sacrifices such as cutting weight which means no halloween candy. " Kessler says he will continue with his wrestling career and hopes to do well in this next coming season.
