High school Rodeo isn't just a past time, its my life. Rodeo has given me the opportunity to travel to new places, meet new people, and get my horses out to experience new environments. Barrel racing and polebending are me and my horses main focus. This sport requires the ability to work and become one with an animal (not to mention an animal that is probably 9 or 10x your size) and be able to communicate to him with your hands and legs to make a good run. In the process of communication, you can't forget about yourself; keep your seat and hold on. Hours before i enter the arena, i make sure that me and my horse are both well and ready to make a run that only lasts a few seconds. With barrel racing, polebending, and any other rodeo event, comes the hard work and training. It takes days, weeks, months, years and an unlimited amount of sweat and tears to get ready for this sport. Every hour I have spent preparing myself for this great sport have been more than worth while.
