I bought this beautiful 1965 Chrysler Convertible in the mid 1970's after selling my Mercury Comet Convertible to my brother(I wish I still had THAT car!). I was complaining that I wanted another covertible and my husband says "go to the end of the block and ask the ownwer how much he wants for that car." So I did and bought it for $500.00! When I used to see the previous owner, he would always say he sure wished he hadn't sold the car! There was some front end hood damage from running into a pole, but otherwise in great shape.
It has a 383 engine, which makes for a nice, smooth running, road and cruising car.
I have had it in several parades and use it for just running around town.
The original color is Seafoam Green, as you can see in the 3rd picture, and even though it was pretty, green is not my color! After several years I finally had the car painted blue for more than I paid for the car. The color didn't last, so I tried it again and that job didn't last either. Finally we took it to a professional in ND. He took out the dent and did a wonderful job. It DID cost 3 times more than I paid for the car, but has lasted over 20 years and still looks good.
The top is black and has a few pinhole burns from when the car was parked across the street when a grain elevator burned in the early 70's.
I had a hard time figuring out and finding the right hubcaps for the car. Had to go to Missoula to get them! With the internet and EBay, it is not so hard to find parts for my car anymore.
Until just recently I have done most of the mechanical work myself when necessary. Very satisfying.
