I found my car in Fort Benton in the summer of 2007. It was sitting on a corner lot with a "For Sale" sign in the window and I knew right away that this was the car for me! The 4-door '67 Chevelle's paint was old & faded and some areas were rusting out. I have always dreamed of owning a Chevelle muscle car and fixing it up.

Being a freshman in high school, this car was within my price range and it became my "sports car." Instead of playing high school sports, my time and money have been invested into restoring this car. I have used my own money that I earned working on our family farm & also participating in 4-H pork & beef projects.

The first summer I had the car it was entered in the kids car show at Festival Days in Havre. I won the "most incomplete car" award. I took my 1st date to prom in this car.

First thing to replace was the rotten carpet and front seat. Next I tackled picking a car paint color. A cowl induction hood was ordered and body work begun by a local paint shop. A complete paint job with Chevelle racing stripes and ghost flames on the hood scoop rounded out the project.

New chrome, bumpers and grill were the last things to finish the exterior. This spring I had a 383 engine installed along with a turbo 350 transmission. After a few more minor adjustments, it was ready to drive in 2 local parades this summer. In June I entered the high school division at the Lewistown Raceway. In 4 race dates I have placed first twice and second twice.

I think this car is the "Koolest" because you don't see very many people fix up 4-door cars. Most of them were crushed and these are pretty rare to find. When my high school days are over, I will have something very "Kool" and rewarding to show for my time.

I found this on eBay with two hours left on the auction. I won the auction and luckily it turned out to be a nice car. It was originally sold in California and wound up in Boise, ID. The person I bought it from did all the work on it. I've added the correct convertible decklid (from eBay also) and a banjo steering wheel. The 60's surf board is also an eBay find from California.

This is my 1986 F150... It started life just 2 years ago as an 4x4 old farm/ranch truck of which the owner was going to have it hauled to the bone yard... I took it home and started work almost immediately... I originally planned it to be a "hobby" and in no way thought it would turn into this... I do all of my own work, especially the mechanical stuff... I had a friend, Randy Shaw of Lincoln, Mt. help with some of the body work, but all in all, I did 95% of the work myself in my garage... I installed a 10 point cage in it, with ladder bar suspension... It currently has a 521C.I. Big Block Ford engine that makes 800+ HP... It has a Powerglide Transmission, and a 9 inch Ford rearend with a 4.56 gear... The tires are 26x4.5x15 on the front, and 32x14.5Wx15 on the rear... I have only been able to make a few passes so far this year at Lost Creek Raceway in Anaconda, Mt. It has a best pass of 6.76 sec @ 106mph on their 1/8 mile track... In the video I posted, I was credited with my first official wheelie, although not very high, I was told there was about 4" under the front tires...

Thanks for doing this contest, as it lets us rodders and racers put our "junk" up for public viewing for others to see and admire...

Doug... :-)

The "Peterwood", a combination of a Peterbuilt truck and a Fleetwood travel trailer. After driving over the road trucks since 1952, 34 years of that for Buttreys Foods (a great job) I invisioned a motorhome that wood pass anything in the hills, but not cost an arm and a leg so I decided to build one. Two summers of labor and $21,000 later I had fullfilled that dream. It pulls a 32 ft race car trailer with race car and gets 9 miles per gallon and passes everything in the hills. The effort was a great success. You should see people stare when we use it to back the boat into a lake. haha,
